Fire Museum of Maryland
The Fire Museum of Maryland is part of the DVIA community demonstrating the importance of fire safety education, and providing a glimpse into the community of yesteryear.
The Fire Museum of Maryland was founded in 1971 and houses one of the top three Fire Museums in the country. More than 40 fire engines and hundreds of historically significant artifacts are on permanent display in the 20,000 square foot exhibition hall. If you have ever wanted to know why fire engines are red, what started the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904 or why Dalmatians were used in the firehouse, a visit to America’s premier collection of fire fighting apparatus will answer these questions and more
